The Awakening

"The voice of the sea is seductive; never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander for a spell in abysses of solitude; to lose itself in mazes of inward contemplation.

"The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft close embrace."

I am thoroughly enjoying Kate Chopin's The Awakening. It is poetry in prose form.

  1. I just finished that book! I'm in the middle of teaching it! I started out liking the book until the end, but now I'm starting to think I like it the way it is. I still think she's a flake, but, ya know.
